Ways to Donate for Flint Water Crisis - A Few Suggestions from Kudos Magazine

There are many organizations that are conducting fund-raising efforts for the water crisis in Flint. Not all of them have a track record, and some may take advantage of donors’ generosity. We recommend that you direct your donations to these local, reputable organizations that are raising money to directly address the water emergency and beneļ¬t the city’s residents.

THE FLINT CHILD HEALTH AND DEVELOPMENT FUND OF THE  
COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF GREATER FLINT

This new fund of The Community Foundation of Greater Flint will support the delivery of critical public health, medical, and community-based services and interventions that address and mitigate the long term impacts experienced by Flint’s children  who have been exposed to lead. 

UNITED WAY GENESEE
WATER FUND

The United Way of Genesee County has set up this fund for the purchase of ļ¬lters, bottled water, emergency support services and prevention efforts. 100% of the fund is used for these projects and no Administrative Fee is assessed.

PEDIATRIC PUBLIC HEALTH INITIATIVE

A partnership between Hurley Children’s Hospital and Michigan State University, this initiative will address the lead exposure and its effects on multiple fronts, including assessments, continued research and monitoring and interventions necessary for improving children’s health and development.

FlintNOW was founded by Detroit Pistons owner Tom Gores, a Flint native, to provide private sector support for immediate relief efforts during the water crisis in Flint and for long-term programs focused  on economic development, nutrition and health care for residents of the city.
