Search and Rescue
Paul Bryant shares his story on his experience after loosing his job and ending up homeless, with a family of 4. His story of inspiration helps you understand the level of importance of homeless shelters like Shelter of Flint. Often people consider donating during the holiday season. In reality organizations like Shelter of Flint operate 365 days a year. If you have extra money from your tax return or you happen to stumble onto a little extra money, consider making a donation to a local charity. Send them $25!! It doesn't have to be a lot, but in all honesty all those little donations here and there make a huge difference. Sometimes we take for granted the luxuries that we have.....and there is nothing wrong with enjoying luxuries and having a comfortable life. But some of the things that you don't need or are laying in the corner or basement or garage, some of those items could be real luxuries to others. You know the old saying, "one man's junk is another man's treasure." When you are doing your spring cleaning, get read of items you don't need, call organizations like the shelter of Flint or carriage town ministries and see if they would like the items. Trust me, all those little things collecting dust bunnies can help others get a start into life. All I know is we are not born with this stuff and we won't leave with it, so help others while you can. :)
Hope you enjoy this inspiring story from Kudos magazine.
